Stand Still

Stand Still

And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see them no ore forever (Exodus 14:13)

Someone said that Africans are challenged by silence which is why their environment is very noisy. However, it is not silence we are here to discuss but that sometimes all we need to do is to sit down and let God do His thing. Often we easily quote Matt 11:12…”the violent takes it by force”. We also quote Ps 66:1 and Ps 100:1 to make a joyful noise. However Job 4:16 says “A form ws before my eyes; There was silence; … But more emphatically is what 1Kings 19:12 says about God was not in the earthquake but in small still voice.

The message for the hour is simply this that God can be worshipped by our silence and more importantly by standing still in faith and letting God work His miracles in our lives. Let us leave our petitions and request at the feet of the Master and stop trying to see how God is going to resolve the matter at hand. What we can actually do if we are to do anything at all is to keep thanking Him for what He is doing or about to do.

Shalom.
