First of all I must on behalf of the members of Harvest Centre thank you all for taking time out to attend the 3rd year anniversary of its existence. Today, the theme of this celebration is “dry bones hear the Word of God” and it is a testament that we can speak the Word of God to any situation(s) and the challenges of life will definitely respond. The situation might be as stubborn as the fig tree or a barren situation like that of Hannah, however, the bible makes us understand in Luke 1:37 that with God nothing is impossible, just speak the Word of the most High God and the situation must answer its Maker.

With God’s Word, a virgin girl can bring forth a child and water can turn into wine. Hearing the Word, Lazarus rose from the dead and the pot of the widow of Zarephath remains bountiful even in the season of recession. The bible makes us understand that the Word in Genesis 1:2 set in motion the entire world and still sustains every created element. The moment God withdraws His Word, the Sun will seize to shine, humanity will stop to exist and animals will immediately become extinct. So why is the Word so powerful? John 1:1-4 makes an emphatic statement that Jesus is the Word personified and in Him verse 4 says is life.

John 10:10 tells us that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus comes that we might have life more abundantly. The usage of the Word of God translates into faith; the speaking of the Word of God to address life’s challenges brings to bear divine assistance in one’s life. Without the Word in our lives, we become sitting “ducks” in the hand of the enemy. However thank God for the finished work on the cross, we can speak the Word and God in heaven will back our faith. So it is imperative to study the Word; “do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (2 Tim 2;15). John 5:39 say that we should study the Scriptures diligently because….. in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about Jesus. So whatever issues that make you feel dead, remember in this day of Harvest Centre anniversary, they will hear the Word of God.
